Dos & don’ts in Cambodia

Dos:
Show your respect to the old and religious beliefs.
Ask for permission before taking photograph at the sights.
Put off your shoes outside before entering the temples.
Wear long and body covering clothes when visit the temples.
Do a “sampeah” for greeting (bow the head slightly with hands pressed together at the chest).
Hand things to the others and take things from the others by both hands.
Bring a map by your side.
Don’ts:
Touch the head of the Cambodian.
Point your feet at the others.
Touch male monks or hand something directly to them (for female tourists).
Show extreme actions at public area (e.g. kiss at public area).
