Built during the reign of the King Suryavarman II from 1113-1150, Thommanon, nowadays, is the must-see temple if you explore the Great Angkor Thom from the Gate of Victory. Thommanon Temple is a tiny temple located outside the Gate of Victory. The attractive point of Thommanon is the statue of devata – the sacred women – in traditional attire sampots with distinctive acessories like neacklaces, armbands, belts and ankle bands which is very similar to other women statue of Angkor Thom. Moreover, the style of the image of devata in Thommanon is very familiar with the images of other sacred woman inside the Angkor but the clothing is different.
Many experts think that the devata of Thommanon is in higher position than other devata base on the clothing and appearance.
